Brief Description: Fuel return line supplies/H Stab SB
I ordered parts today to complete the fuel return line for the tanks. I placed two orders, one from Vans and one from Aircraft spruce.
2 AN833-6D Bulkhead fittings
2 AN924-6D Nuts for the Bulkhead fittings
2 AN819-6D sleeve, flare coupling
2 AN818-6D nut, flare coupling
8’ of soft 3/8” AL tubing
2 AN929-6D cap flared fitting to close off the return line until installation
2 AN929-4D cap flared fitting – ditto for the fuel vent line
8 SB500-6 Snap bushings
Unrelated to the fuel return line parts, I ordered the Service Bulletin kit for the Horizontal Stab cracking issue (14-01-31)
I started on the Spruce website and found everything except the snap bushings. They may carry something suitable, but I couldn’t find it. The SB500-6 part number is the Vans part number that I found by searching “the list” with the similar SB437-4 part number for the ¼” vent tube snap bushings (I also discovered that you get these bushings with the stall warning kit). I then priced the rest of the parts from Van’s and found they were much cheaper on everything except the AL tubing (which was 3x more for some reason). Vans didn’t have the ¼” caps either, so I split the order and just bought the tubing and ¼ caps from Spruce. The H-stab SB kit I threw in – I decided earlier that I might as well make this upgrade before installation.
