Brief Description:  Inboard/Outboard Rib prep and sealant for the wire

The outboard most rib has a plate doubler that gets riveted to the inboard side of the rib nose. It looks like this can be done ahead of riveting in the outboard rib - so that is the plan. I scuffed up the parts, cleaned them with MEK and then used the squeezer to set the rivets. Seven rivets in each doubler using AN470AD-4-4’s (I couldn’t find any references to these rivets on the drawing). I installed and riveted these “wet” with sealant, coated the heads and formed the fillet seal.

I wiped down the wire connections with MEK, and then gooped them up. For the “loose” connectors, I gave them a lite coating of sealant. When they get installed, I’ll add more.

There are a couple other sealing jobs I need to do on these ribs yet. The outboard rib has a tooling hole that needs to be filled and sealed. The instructions call out using an AN470AD-6 (3/16” dia) for this. I don’t have any so I started down the path of building a patch – but then I didn’t have the right rivets (other than flush) to do that, so I need to order something... The other sealing task is gooping up the vent line bulkhead fitting on the inboard rib. I didn’t have the torque values handy so I left this for next time. On top of that, I’m leaning back toward installing an injection system fuel return line now as well. It looks like I’ve come full circle on this. So I need to order some -6 (3/8”) tubing, plastic bushings, bulkhead fittings, and drill some holes.
