Brief Description: Flop Tube anti-hang up brackets
I cut up an old manila folder for a paper template for the U-bracket. With the right tank assembled and the flop tube installed I verified the more forward location on the access plate ring is the better position as other builders have discovered (vs mounting dead center in the ring per Van’s tank drawing).
I cut up some 0.025 scrap (1/2” width) per the Tank drawing and made the bends per the paper mockup using the bench vice.
I did produce a paper version of the other bracket but it wasn’t much use except for length and general bend information. I produced an aluminum version and bent and re-bent it several times until I was happy with it.
