Brief Description:  Welding the Left Elevator

Today was a great day. I was able to finish weld the left elevator and it's about as perfect as can be. I just had some very minor tweaking on the front part where the counterbalance goes that was a result of tacking. But I took my time and didn't get any warping or misalignment after welding. I don't know what it was, but it just felt good to see this thing that I made out of raw steel stock and have it turn out well.

I made a small jig to hold the trim tab hinges in line and parallel to the centerline of the tubes and that worked fine. Last thing I have to do is put in the T1 tubes that support the trim tab and the diagonal for the counterweight area. After that, it's on to the right elevator. With any luck, I'll have it done in a couple of days.
