Brief Description:  Rudder Part 2

There are several tubes that need to be bent to shape for the tail. 3/8ths for the trailing edge for the elevator and rudder, 1/2in for the elevator tips and 5/8ths for the rudder tip.

I didn't have access to any tubing benders to make a nice radius without kinking the tubes, so I thought I would make one. I didn't want to make one out of oak, like my 7/8ths tubing block because I would need to buy the different router bits. I got a remnant chunk of 3/4in 5086 aluminum from my local steel shop and cut a disk a little bigger than 8 inches in diameter. I milled it round, then used my round-nosed bits to make a clean radius in the aluminum. I did three segments, each sized for the tubing size. Out of the corners left over from the disk I made some stop blocks. It turned out great and should work better than anything that I could buy.
