Brief Description:  Drilled Flap Hinge

Yesterday I had clamped the aileron in the neutral position. Today I placed the flap next to the aileron, aligned the trailing edge with the aileron, measured a 1/4" gap between the aileron and flap, clamped the flap hinge to the flap brace/wing skin, and began drilling the holes in the hinge. I started at the outboard end and placed a cleco in each hole after I drilled it to support the hinge for drilling the next hole. I was very pleased with the alignment of the flap-to-aileron and was able to maintain the the hinge hole-to-edge distance called for in the plans. I then repoved the hinge and deburred both sides of the drilled hinge holes and the flap brace holes.

Put the left wing back in the wing stand and put the right wing on the table and repeated the process with it. It came out well also.
