Brief Description:  Riveted LH Elevator Leading Edge

Riveted the leading edge of the left elevator. You use pop or blind rivets here because you are unable to reach underneath the rolled edge to buck the rivet.

Next we made a rod end bearing wrench out of PVC. I copied the idea from Sam Buchannon's build site. This wrench allows you to screw the rod end bearings (picture 3) into the nutplate without damaging the bearing race.

Next step will be to attach the elevators to the horizontal stabilizer, measure the range of travel and drill the hole in each elevator horn (the part painted white in yesterday's entry) that allows them to be bolted together so their movement is locked in unison.
