Brief Description:  Wing skins; riveting

Began riveting the aft wing skins. This went quickly and without problem. There are alot of holes here. I could not imagine doing these with a manual/hand riveter. The pneumatic makes quick work of it.

I am leaving the aft spar un-riveted where the aileraon and flap hings go as I have not made the surfaces yet. I'll wait (this will be next) and use them to keep everything aligned when placing the hinge.

Also, the root edge is not riveted either as this will have the Root Doubler which will require trimming prior to final attachement; this is what will mate against the fuselage.

Wing attach eyebolt placed.

Thanks to Michael Hilderbrand for the little tool idea (in the third pic). It is used to push in rivets; it's a good thing that they fit snuggly (SP?) but it really starts to hurt your finger tips after a while. This is simply a large bolt that I driller out to accept the rivet stem. I ground it down a bit to make it easier to get into small places, i.e., inside the rib to flange angles.
Michaels website (www.kansasflying.com/sonex1017/sonexbuildinglog.html) has saved me much time and suffering. I owe him and a few other internet builders a great debt.
