Brief Description:  Drilled and clecoed next panel

I've noticed that where the nose rib meets the skin at the leading edge it still tends to scratch it even with the blocks. I put a strip of clear packing tape on the panel at each rib location. That solved the problem plus also made it easier to move the nose rib into position for drilling.

The next skin was drilled and clecoed. I took off the prior panel first. Once the new panel was in place I put the other panel back on and drilled and clecoed the overlap. I used the method as outlined in Erics manual for the overlap. For the center rib the lower panel was predrilled then drilled and clecoed to the rib before the top panel was added. When the top panel was added the clecos at the seam were removed and the upper panel back drilled from the center panel with a 12" #40 drill bit. Andrea held a block on the seam where I was drilling.

The top panel does not lay perfectly flat over the lower panel at the upper nose rib side on the overlap. I wasn't sure if the edge was supposed to be rolled but that would be enough to clean it up. I asked the Bearhawkers group and it was confirmed by Eric the panels should be edge rolled at the overlaps.

We prepped the next panel with the bend. We've got this down to a system now. With Andrea's help we have a panel nose bend in about 5 minutes.

Before bending I am marking 3 lines:
One at 17" for the nose bend center
One at 32 1/2" for the Spar line (used to position the panel)
One at 34" when the panel edge will be folded and taped for the bending process

With panel #3 and #4 in position I marked them where the edges need to be trimmed to final size. I took panel 3# off and trimmed and deburred the edges. I used the dremel to trim the edges.
