Brief Description:  Drill flap and aileron spar hinge brackets

Today pretty much sucked. It was a day that I probably would have been better to have quit when I realized it was one of those days that I was taking 2 steps forward and one step back (...sometimes 1 step forward and 2 steps back!). If I wasn't so determined to beat it I would have quit. I honestly wasn't having fun anymore for a while.

If I could make any excuse it would have to be that I've been skiing for 3 days straight! I was beat before I started!

I didn't anticipate that I would spend so much time drilling the holes in the flap and aileron spar hinge brackets. I actually spent a little of the logged time over the last 2 days but today was the main day.

I screwed up two brackets when the hole for the bearing was off. I remade the parts and re-drilled. Then I later drilled one bracket with the spar attach side too close to the bend. I remade the part. Later the same thing happened to one of the flap push rod hinge parts so I remade the part and managed to bend it in the wrong direction! …so I had to make another part. Total remake - 5 of 12 parts! Ouch!

I knew I was getting beat but I was bound and determined to win so I kept going. One thing I did accomplish is that when I bent the biggest flap spar hinge parts (.072) on the brake I made some adjustments to the brake and was able to make the complete bend in the brake. They came out better than the original (but not enough to redo the other pair!)

It may very well be that I was being too anal but it was bugging me right off the bat so I knew I had to redo them.

I wouldn't call today a good day but I would call it a successful day. If I hadn't fixed them it would have bugged me - now at least I can now sleep well tonight.
