Brief Description:  Flap and aileron hinge spar bracket

I actually did a little bit on these over the last couple days but today I did the majority of the work. I cut the .062 spar bracket parts on the band saw first making one complete pair at a time. Then used the bench grinder to size to final shape and deburred the edges. I used the 36" brake to bend the 90 degree angle.

I completed one set at a time. After all the .062 parts were made I made the .072 parts. The .062 material bent fine in the brake but the .072 was a little more difficult. I could get the smaller aileron brackets bent okay but the larger flap parts were too much. I started the bend then used the same process as forming the "U" channels by clamped the part in the vise with the forming bar and pounding it over. That worked well and made a nice radius on the parts.

I still need to drill the hole in the parts.

As I've worked on these flap and aileron hinge parts I really recognize what a great value the AviPro parts are. These "page 13" parts can be purchased from AviPro for a very reasonable price. I've come to the conclusion that you really have to want to make parts yourself to not cave into the time value by purchasing the parts all ready made. If I didn't have such a desire to do it myself I would have caved by now!
