I finished welding the rest of the flap hinges. I cut the tubes 1/8" long so I put them back in the jig to locate the final length. When I did that I found that the mounting plate had shrunk about 1/32" when I welded the tube hole in the mounting bracket. The holes that were 4" apart are now 1/32” closer and don't fit in the jig anymore. I guess it's not that big of a deal because I have to drill new holes in the spar for all but 2 of them and the 2 need to have a bigger hole (1/4") drilled anyway so it should be fine.
I used the top hole to mount the hinge in the jig and marked the tube length. I didn't see much shrinkage in the tube length. I used a bench grinder and ground the tube to proper length and cleaned up the end. I test fit a bearing in each tube and it's a nice tight fit. The 6 flap hinges are done.
