Brief Description:  Flap lever and push rod bushing

I welded the flap lever on the ends of the torque tubes. I was having a hard time visualizing how it should line up with the flap arms at the other end until I took a closer look at page 14. Now it makes sense to me.

I was going to make the flap push rod but it looks like that needs to be sized correctly on assembly. I decided to just make the "T" end for now with the bushing so I can mount it between the flap arms. The plans call for 4130- 3/8" x .058 that is 1-1/4" long for the tube. I cut that then drilled it out to 1/4" for the bushing.

The plans call for a 1.260" long bushing that is 1/4" O.D. and 3/16" I.D. The plans don't specify the material so I used some 4130 - 1/4" X .065 and drilled it out to a 3/16” I.D. It took a little bit of work to get it all to fit together but after a few "practice pieces" I had something that worked okay.

One other thing I came across was that when I made my torque tube bearings I left them a little long to avoid burning down the edges when I welded them. The plans called for 1-1/4" but mine were 1-3/8". They need to match the 1-1/4' push rod tube so I just took them off and ran them on the grinder until they were 1-1/4". I put them back on the wings and put the flap arms on and installed the tube and bushing.
