Brief Description: Attach point for flap return springs
I knew this would happen to me someday - I ran out of acetylene on a Saturday. If I had checked my gauges about 10 minutes sooner I could have gotten to the welding supply store during their limited Saturday hours. Oh well, good excuse to fly RC's this weekend now!
I actually started working on the spring attach point yesterday but I'm just making one log entry with the accumulative time. I drilled a 3/8" hole on the support frame using a centering jig on the drill press. I then tack welded two 5/16" washers on one end of the 3/8" tube. The 5/16" washers were a nice tight fit. I then inserted the tube into the support frame and welded washers on the other side. Then I cantered the 3/8" tube and welded in place. Just as I finished up the attach point on the second support frame I ran out of acetylene so I was unable to weld on the last part of these frames, the other end.
