Brief Description:  Flange nose rib lightening holes

I've noticed that most everyone goes though a learning curve at this point. Flanging the lightening holes takes a little time to figure out. I probably spent 3 hours on the first 5 ribs just trying to figure out what works best. By the time I got comfortable and got into a flow I could do both holes in the nose rib in a little over 5 minutes.

I found that after pressing with the flange dies I could use the bob stick to manipulate the flange to flatten out the rib. Sometimes when I needed to give the flange quite a bit more bend I had to use the bob stick handle end to press the flange from the back side to flatten it out as outlined in Beartracks. I think this was the hardest part to learn where to apply the right pressure (most head scratching).

When it comes to flanging with the bob stick I found you need to put a fair amount of force into it. Flanging holes is actually a pretty good work out. I know I was sweating a lot but it might be mostly stress related! I was pretty comfortable with the process by the time I got to my 10th nose rib.

Andrea continued helping with sanding the lightening holes. She's doing a great job!

All 46 nose ribs are done (less the stiffener).
