Finished deburring nose ribs. -- I got about half of them flanged today. It took me about 6 ribs before I started to feel comfortable. At first it seemed I should be able to pound it a little flatter. I later discovered that having the radius as tight as possible was the key. If the radius was accurate the bulk of the flange was easy to pound out to a 90 degree bend later.
The nose rib is place face down on the workbench (carpet protector) butted up to a 2 X 4 clamped to the table and a rubber mallet is used to complete the 90 degree bend in the flange.
Fluting plyers are then used to flatten the rib. 1) I bent the initial bend in the form blocks. 2) I removed the rib and completed the bend to a 90 degree bend on the table 3) I fluted the flange until the rib was straight
