Brief Description: Rudder pedal ends & mount to fuselage
I finished welding the other two brake pedal tabs to the rudder pedals. Then I made some 1-1/8" round disks out of .050 to weld to the rudder pedal ends. I actually have some 1-1/8" washers but I didn't want the bump look of filling in the center hole. The washers would have worked fine but I decided to give into my obsessiveness this time. I don't think it really took that much more time to make the disks than it would have taken to fill in the hole anyway - at least that's what I keep telling myself!
I welded the disks to the rudder pedal ends. Then I made the mounting plates to mount the rudder pedal assembly to the fuselage. I marked the position on the fuselage tubes then used a clear plastic sheet to make a transfer pattern to the .062 sheet. I welded the plates on then mounted the assembly. I'm about the same build as Bob some I positioning the rudder pedals in the same location he did - 5" aft of the fire wall.
