Brief Description: Finish brake pedals, make rudder drive arms
I made the tabs for the brake cylinder attach then welded them to the brake pedals. It worked well to tack weld these while the pedals were still grouped. I made a template to locate the tab in the correct location on the arm. It was easy to make sure they all lined up as a group assembly. After all 4 tabs were tacked I cut the pedals apart and finished the welds.
Next I made the rudder pedal drive arms. I had to remake the right one because after bending it was too wide to fit the end correctly. I welded the washer on then welded the arms to the pedal assembly. I set the arms rotated 8 degrees forward of the pedals.
I started making the tabs to mount the brake pedals to the rudder pedals. I decided to cut the base of the tabs with a hole saw to keep the tabs as uniform as possible. After all the holes were drilled and cut I started cutting the tabs out on the band saw. While pushing the metal through the blade the blade mistook my finger as metal and I got a nice cut on the tip of my finger. All the parts are still there so I elected to "slow weld" the cut with a butterfly.
