Like I said before....awkward squeezer angle = messy rivets! But the again, this is a very needed skill so my education continues.
The squeezer did fit over the flange of the spare piece, but still went in wrong when I put in the rivets. I had three in a row that were screwy then I noticed my error. My skills for rivet removal were lacking and I chewed up stuff. Finally force myself to walk away from it for a while, eat some dinner, relax, watch some recorded TV shows, and clear my mind. I went down later that night (12:30am!) and experimented with some scrap. I figured out what I was doing wrong. See next posting.
