Brief Description:  Dimpling - part 2

Yesterday I mentioned the look of the dimple in the skin of the horizontal stablizer. If you look at the left photo, you can see distortions in the reflection around the dimpled holes.
I have to give a huge thanks to Mike at Cleaveland Aircraft Tools who saw my photo on Facebook and emailed me saying my dimples didn't look right. This morning he posted a video that explained in just a few minutes a great way to tell if you have enough pressure on the dimples. See here - http://youtu.be/Qo9QCMaNSoA
I had things backwards thinking that too much pressure was causing the skin to warp slightly and that the rivets would tighten that down. Wrong. More pressure gives it a very nice flat look around the dimples. I went over all of them again with the DRDT-2 and the pnumatic squeezer. They look pretty nice now and no distorted skin.
I just have that one oversized hole in the HS-706 rib to deal with, so I clearly marked that one and will come back later and find the next larger rivet that would work there.
