Brief Description: Dimpling the tight trailing edge of the rib.
The last hole in the lower rib is just way too tight to get the dimpler in. I have a tool in the box that fixes that problem. Not sure what it's called, but it's the female end of the dimple die that needs to be screwed down to a bench - so don't use your best bench for this!
I screwed it down and was almost ready to go. I needed something to whack the dimpling side of the die to create the dimple. I drilled a hole to fit the die attachement and stuck it on a scrap piece of poplar that I had around. I lined everything up and gave it a few good whacks with the malle on the piece of wood. Not quite as easy as the pnumatic squeezer, and it took a few whacks to get it deep enough, but it worked and there it is - last hole neatly dimpled!
Using the "hammer pounding" meathod of dimpling realy makes me appreciate the DRDT-2 and the squeezer!
Dimple die mounted on bench and ready.
Wood with die inserted. This gave it a good target for whacking the hammer against.
