Brief Description: Started Front Spar of Horizontal Stab
Today, since I do not have any primer, I started on the front spar of the horizontal stab. The front spar is held together by two pieces of aluminum angle that was partially machined at the factory. It is my responsibility to remove some metal and round off the ends. I really am going to have to get a band saw!
I tried using my grinder, my sander, and finally had to use a hacksaw. The first one is a little ugly, but will work; the second one came out nice. My next task on this spar it so bend the angles about 15 degrees aft sweep. (I had to buy a vise to hold everything and bend stuff. There went another $75...)
Next: Build a paint booth, prime parts, and start riveting.
