Today in the workshop, we attached the rudder skins to are skeletons finished yesterday. First we layed out the rib locations on the skin and predrilled both sides of the skin at once. Next we inserted the finished skeleton into the predrilled skins and back drilled and clecoed the tip rib and bottom spar to prevent movement of the skeleton. Then we aligned the rib centerlines thru the holes in the skin and drilled and clecoed. Repeated the process for the other side. Next we positioned the nose skin using duct tape to secure it in place until we could drill and cleco. Finally after the instructor okayed our work, we disassembled, deburred, reassembled and riveted the competed rudder.
