Inventoried all the part of the Rudder Kit. Discussed edge distances for rivets and the steps needed to complete the project. I made the first nerve-racking cut on the project. No tuning back now. Next I marked the rib locations on the Rudder spar and predrilled the rivet holes for the ribs and spar doublers. So far the hardest part for me is marking a staight line with the sharpe. After some practice, I am finally able to consistantly mark the pieces. I backed drilled the hole in the spar to the rudder ribs and clecoed them in place. Ater the rudder skeleton was assembled, it was time to disassemble and debur all the parts. Fortunately all the rudder parts here at the factory were already primed with clear Cortex primer to prevent corrosion. I will buy a quart of that...Easy to use and water clean-up. No toxic fumes either. Finally we reassembled and riveted the rudder skeleton together. Tomorrow we will install the rudder skin. So Far, So Good...
