Fabricated HS-908-L from stock aluminium angle AA6-187x2x2.5
Left attachment angle worked out OK. Clamped the angle to the workbench, layed the fwd. spar sub-assembly down on the workbench and clamped the fwd spar sub-assembly to the angle. Drilled the poilot hole from the spar through the spar doubler and the angle. Unfortunately, the height of the pilot hole above the base of the angle is about 1 1/2 inch compared to the 1 5/8 inch called out in the drawing. Have to call Van's on monday about that.
F***ed up the other angle, mixed up the length measurements fwd/aft of the angle. Ordered new angle from Van's.
EDIT: Van's answered, confirmed that the spar flange is NOT supposed to be sitting at the aft deck. Ordered a new stock angle.
