Brief Description: Made part#'s SNX-F10-06 & SNX-F10-26
I made two parts today, SNX-F10-06 & SNX-F10-26. -26 is a service bulletin part that replaces -03 on the plans. The only difference between the two parts is the material it is made out of. The original plans call for thinner angle, but the service bulletin ups the angle thickness for added strength
I first made part# SNX-F10-26. The tough thing with this part was cutting out the 5/8" radius cut in the side of the angle. I made a radius template with some wood to draw the correct profile on the angle. I happened to have a holesaw that was 1 1/4" diameter (2X 5/8"). I used this holesaw in my drill press to make the cut. The result was not as accurate as I would like but it was good enough. I will have to re-think these kinds of cuts in the future.
Making part# SNX-F10-06 was rather straight forward. I drew the cut pattern on the angle and cut it out with the band saw. Then I marked the holes and drilled them on the drill press.
