Brief Description: fitting lower windshield trim strip
Because I am using an after-market windshield I have to make a new, larger trim strip for the lower front edge of the windscreen. I have a photo posted that shows the original trim strip and the new one side-by-side. The original has the blue plastic covering, and the newer unit is the larger of the two. You can see that the strip that I am fitting is quite a bit larger than the stock strip.
The trim strip was cut using the posterboard template that I made traced onto the aluminum material, then cut out with shears. I checked the fit of the new piece, then spent quite a while doing some final trimming and sanding for fit, and then cleaning up the edges.
The other two photos show the strip in place during the fitting.
I also applied another coat of paint to the ailerons and wingtips. I am still having issues with the finish. Tomorrow I am going to do some troubleshooting to figure this one out.
