Brief Description: Fitting torque tube, sticks and linkages
I will spread today's work over two posts to allow more photos.
Today I continued tinkering with the torque tube and pillow blocks to reduce the friction to a reasonable and acceptable level. I had the assembly in and out of the plane several times, polishing the bearing surfaces, locating interference points, filing, sanding and repolishing the tube and pillow blocks.
I adjusted the front pillow block down (lower) and the middle pillow block up (higher) as they were out of alignment with the rear unit.
I inserted the bronze bushing into the control sticks (photo) using a 1/4" bolt as a press. The torque tube also gets bushing.
