But I gave up on the SeaRey kit back then, and every time I looked into it in the years after, the price was higher and higher.
During the next 8 years, having given up on the SeaRey and bored on the weekends I got a Bowrider Boat in 2002, and took it out every weekend for the 1st year, every other week the 2nd year and about 2 or 3 times a year after that.
Then came the Harley Davdson in 2005. Again every weekend the 1st year and so-forth. The up side was becoming a member in the local Harley Owners Group (H.O.G) and going on monthly rides and get togethers. And then there was the Daytona Bike Week and Biketoberfest.
Even though the economy has gravely effected my Plumbing business, I can not let my dream die. I am 52 now and I know it will take 2 to 3 years of weekends to build the kit and that is if I can come up with the money to buy an engine.
I was in my mid 20s when I first saw that Buccaneer fly and feel my time slipping away.
In January 2009 I went to the Sebring LSA Expo and saw the new upgraded SeaRey LSX . After seeing all of the improvements and found out that the price for the LSX at the time of the Expo was $27,900.00, but after the Expo was going up another $2,000.00 to $29,900.00, I put a deposit on one to hold the price for a year. I was issued the kit number 1MK481C.
I told Progressive that I would probably take delivery in December 2009. I hope the economy has fixed it self by then.
