Brief Description:  FAB Airbox

So it's back to the Filtered Air Box. The next step is to fit the FAB box both horizontally and vertically to the engine and the cowling inlet scoop. This is a tedious long process. Mounted the mount plate to the carburator. The holes in the mount plate and the filter plate do not line up, by design. Next I clamped the top plate to the mount plate, installed the lower cowl and checked to make sure that the neck of the top plate is alligned with the cowl inlet scoop. This took a number of iterations (install and remove cowl), but when I got good alignment I marked the top plate. After removing the assembly I drilled the top plate using the aligned mount plate as a template. Installed temporary bolt to hold the mount plate and the top plate together. I checked the vertical alignment in the same manner, except here the top cowl is also installed to elliminate any sag. After several tries I fluted the top plate and got a good alignment with the inlet scoop. In the picture the vertical alignment is good, I just could not get the camera angle right.
