The E-04 ELT is interfaced to the aircraft source of navigation data through a four pin mini din connector. To do this is some of the most tedious work I have done in building this aiplane. To connect the wires to the mini din connector took me 3 hours and I am not yet finished. I used a three conductor shielded cable 22 AWG size. Three of the pins are used for interfacing with the aircraft systems and the fourth pin is used to verify that the ELT is receiving and processing the data. I conected the white wire to pin 1, the blue wire to pin 3 and the red wire to pin 4. The designations are shown in the manual on page 8.
