I let the primer sit for one day. Today I installed the ELT on the backing plate using the quick release retaining straps. The quick release straps placed under the mounting tray (part of the kit) and above the backing plate. The whole assembly is fastened together using four 6-32 screws and platenuts earlier installed on the backing plate. Unfortunately, the retaining strap marked “battery” was too short, didn’t fit the ELT. When I tried to close it deformed the strap and didn’t provide secure clamping for the ELT. ACK Technologies will send me out a new strap. This definitely set me back. To test the installation I temporarily installed the ELT using the straps. Other than the “battery” strap it looks good.
