Brief Description:  Work on main gear leg fairings

This is going to be cruel on my old body (to get to the gear leg on the 9A, under the wing, is very difficult if you are not limber). I trimmed the hinges leaving 2” longer than the length on the. Positioned the trimmed hinge inside the fairing and marked the position of the hinge leaving 1” excess on each end for clamping. Next step is to figure out where to position the hinge in relation to the trailing edge by placing the fairings on the gear legs. I clamped the tailing edge of the fairings with spring clamps after placing hinges inside the fairings, and then positioned the hinges to make sure I end up with no gap and no twist along the tailing edge. I found that this process can be done with less physical torture on the bench with the same result (by comparing it both ways). Mark the position of the hinges on the fairing.
