Mark the rivet locations on the hinge halves 1” apart centering them on each hinge longitudinally. I offset the rivet holes by ½” between the hinge halves. Position of the hinge inside the trailing edge of the fairing and clamp the ends of one hinge half in place. I left the hinge pin in place. Opened the hinge flat and drilled the marked rivet locations, clecoing as I drilled with light pressure (also used a wood block behind the hinge half). For the second hinge half I left the pin in place to drill the two outside holes. This positioned the hinge very accurately. After drilling and clecoing the two outside holes I removed the pin and drilled the rest of the holes.
