Brief Description:  Right Fuel Tank Attach Bracket

The weekend was busy with around the house work. Spring clean up. But now back to the Attach Brackets. This is going to turn into one of the most time consuming job because of the lack of access at this location. The idea according to the manual is to drill these holes from the inside after attaching and firmly securing (using a clamp) the F-996A Brackets to the T-905 Brackets on the wing. The trouble is that it is impossible to do because of the landing gear weldment is in the way for the top holes on each side. The only way to do this job for the two upper holes is to use the Avery angle drill and make the holes from the outside. To make sure that the holes are perpendicular to the bracket surface and to the fuselage skin I dismounted the Fuel Tank Brackets, pre-drilled them on the drill press and then used the guidance this gave me to drill the fuselage side of the hole. Unfortunately, I had to step up the hole diameters in four steps to reach the #12 size hole. So the process was mount, dismount, drill, and mount again to drill the fuselage skin. Today I finished only the right upper hole. It looks good.
