Brief Description:  Mount new 70 amp Alt

I decided that the 30 amp Alternator was too marginal for me. Later model included a 80 amp alt.
However, Dan Bank quoted
Alternator 13323 $118.50
Hardware Kit S01-620-0019HB01-01 $ 75.10
Mount S01-620-4108-01 $ 75.95
Tension Bracket S01-620-4034-01 $ 21.50

$223.05

I believe I could do better so I sought a Autolite 13322 (70 amp) which was slightly smaller than the Autolite 13323. The 13322 fit in the available space better. The original mount would need to be modified to allow the pulleys to lineup. I fabricated a steel plate (2.25" x 6.75") to mount on top of the original aluminum plate that allowed the Eye bolt to mount beyond the original location.

I removed the original pulley on the 13322 and found the SH pulley would not reach inside the alt shell to ride the shaft (ie. it rubbed against the alt). I made a large steel washer to the shaft and then mounted the new pulley.

Bolts to mount the plate modification were 3/8"-24. Total cost to replace alternator less than $80.
