Last year I built a 2' X 7' 6" work bench for my 8' X 12" shed. However, it was never used for work, took up space and became a collection spot for items that should be stored. Since I've always planned on building a bench for my power miter saw - with a recessed section that creates co-planar work surfaces - I decided to just modify the shed bench which required a sheet of 23/32" plywood along with some extra materials left over from previous projects. The extra room in the shed should provide enough space to park my lawn tractor. The additional multi-function bench in my work area also creates extra storage space. The new vice was mounted on this bench but after installing it I realized it will often interfere with long materials being cut on the miter so it will most likely get relocated to the bench in front of the garage.
