I purchased some 1/8" steel rivets and cobalt drills to get started on my bending brake fabrication. However, after lifting the angle iron off the floor and on to my bench I was surprised to find that all three 10' pieces were warped - about 1/8" from each end to the center. Attempting to attach the hinges would result in a binding condition with corresponding deformation and wear on the hinges. If the bend plate and base plate would pivot about the hinge the set-up may form some of the smaller pieces without issue but longer parts would not be straight. So, now I have to investige straightening operations or consider purchasing new angles with tight straightness tolerances.
