It was a nice, full day in the garage making good progress on the elevator.
Layed out rib holes and hinge holes on the top sking making decision to NOT have hinge holes directly opposite the stabilizer hinge holes. See today's second entry for more details. Drilled and clecod all rib holes. Removed hinge from stabilizer, inserted opposite flange in elevator and match drilled using small metal scale as a spacer between the skin edge and flipped-up stab-side hinge flange.
Created two 0.040" spacers to fill gap at each end of hinge out toward the end. Cut each outboard end at a 45 to serve as a step-down to the flange between the last two rivets. The second step-down for the skin is from the flange to the rib.
Marked and cut out the openings for the elevator horn doubler. Used drill, nibber, snips and files to get the job done.
