Today I made a small trimming cut to the right side of the canopy and then I set up everything for the BIG CUT. I purchased some plastic spring clamps from Harbor Freight (on sale for $.50 apiece) and I used them to clamp down the sides of the canopy to the canopy frame. I then put a piece of cardboard in between the windscreen frame and the canopy frame to help me visualize where the cut was supposed to be. Five minutes later, it was finished. Not a real big deal, although many builders fret over this step for weeks before they get the courage to make the cut. It came out fine. Now, I will put the windscreen aside and focus on making the aft canopy fit the frame perfectly before gluing it into place.
