Brief Description:  Started the landing gear

It took a little while to find all the parts for the next step of the landing gear.

First I cleaned up the inside of the 403 brake bracket on the inside with emery cloth. There were some burrs and paint snots inside the barrel.

After smoothing off some surface rust on the landing gear legs, I slid the first of the 403's on and tried to force the bolt through - big mistake. The bolt siezed in the holes 80% in, and I had to drive it back out with a punch. The whole time, I was worried about crushing the threads, because this is a specialty bolt, and there were only two in the kit (and I needed them both. The bolt was slowly being punched out, when my last hammer tap caused the bolt to shoot across the room into my scrap pile - 1/2 hour later, I found it. After that, I lined the holes up with punch, and reemed everthing out with a 5/16 bit and some cutting oil. Finally got it together, but it took 3x longer than it should have due to my bolt treasure hunt.

Next I mae the 408 brake spacers. These things are really short (13/32) of an inch. I didn't think I would get a good cut with the band saw, so I made these using a regular tubing cutter. I did splurge and put a new cutting disk in the tubing cutter. After cutting and de-burring, I got within a 32nd of an inch. Not too bad.
