Brief Description:  Additional resources

I spent most of the day yesterday putting together my construction book and laminating the exploded diagrams (so i can have them with me during the build and keep them from getting messed up). The resources available for building the CH-640 do not appear to be as detailed as they are for other Zenith aircraft, such as the STOL (short take-off and landing) CH-801 for instance. I have found that there are more resources for builders in other areas of Zenith's website. Note that these should be used as a REFERENCE ONLY. They cannot, and should not, be used as a replacement for the actual CH-640 plans and construction techniques. The following is a partial list that I have compiled so far:

1. http://www.zenithair.com/stolch801/manuals.html
(assembly manuals for the CH-801). The construction of some parts, such as the wings and tail sections, are "similar" to that of the CH-640. Although different parts are used with a slightly different design, these manuals are much more detailed than those of the CH-640 and should be a big help in getting started. They are more detailed, and give more insight into the designer's techniques.

2. http://www.zenithair.com/stolch801/photo-dir.html
(CH-801 assembly photos) Contains many, many photos of a CH-801 throughout the building process, broken down by part. The CH-640 has a lot of photos as well, that are included with the disk, but more can never hurt if the piece being assembled is similar to that of the CH-801.

3. http://www.zenithair.com/pdf-doc/zenair%20construction%20standards%20draft%201-07.pdf
(Construction standards manual) Similar to the design and constructions standards manual that came with my plans. This printing in this one however is much clearer and easier to read than the one I got, and it contains some info the DCS I received does not have. I'll be using both of them during the build.

4. http://www.zenithair.com/kit-data/ht.html
(Chris Heintz design college) A wealth of knowledge for any builder.
