Brief Description: Painted the windshield hold down strips.
It seems that building an airplane is a never ending series of paint sessions.....
Today I painted the windshield hold down strips and the flap root seals.
By this time, painting is routine. The only new part of today's session was developing some type of mounts to hold the 17 parts I was trying to paint at once. I have several pieces of 1/2" and 3/4" aluminum angle, and bags of 3" long 2-56 threaded rods and nuts. Working with these materials brought back memories of my erector set when I was a child, but they are pretty effective for making jigs to hold the parts.
I think I am down to only two paint sessions now: 1) the wing cuffs and root gap seals and 2) the station 3 closeout parts. I am really getting excited to shut off the lights and close the door to my paint area for a final time.....
