Brief Description:  Misc Tasks

I have been working on two paths in the recent weeks, one to get the boot cowl permanently in fastened in place, and the other to paint some of the parts I have been collecting while I was without a paint booth. The next couple of days were spent catching up on several miscellanous tasks to support these two paths of effort.

To finish up the firewall pass through I cut some fire hose to proper size. One piece wraps around the wires and protects them from chaffing on the metal pass through, and another piece wraps around the outside to seal off the pass through. I mixed up some red RTV with MEK and used the lid to one of my mixing cups to make a shallow pool and coated the inside surfaces of the fire hose to seal up the fiberglass.

When studying the factor S-20 I noticed that the hex head bolts in the seats had torn the fabric on the center counsel, as the seats were adjusted fore and aft, so I replaced these bolts with countersunk screws.
