Brief Description:  Built Paint Booth.

I had some family (Tom) visit this weekend. Tom has plenty of hobbies like I do, but one of them is woodworking, so I took advantage of his help to get my paint booth erected.

I just barely have enough room between the pool table and the garage door in my shop, so with the fuselage in the booth it is a little tight getting around the ends, but I have plenty of space on the sides. The booth interior is about 18' long X 12' wide x 8' high. The plan is to have 4 furnace filters up high on the pool table side, next to the entrance door, and another set of four filters down low on the garage door side. Four inexpensive box fans will pull the air through the booth and exhaust it out under the partially opened garage door.

I used a cheap screen door from Home Depot for normal access, and to get the big parts in and out I made the shop side wall to be two large doors so the entire side can be opened.

I currently have eight 8 foot lights installed. Two rows in the ceiling, and a single row on each of the long sides at about 41" high. I'm debating on putting another light on each end, but have not opened my wallet far enough to do so yet.

Tom and I got the frame built and the plastic put up, and the base assemblies for the lights screwed in place before he had to leave. There are lots of details left such as trimming the plastic for the filters and installing the fans, but I can do that myself after I finish the covering. In the meantime, the booth is a good place to store the wings and miscellaneous items so I have more room to work in the shop.
