Brief Description:  Fabricate Wing Stand.

As I am approaching the point where the wings need to be stored while I work on covering, painting, and assembling the various other parts of the plane, I constructed a simple wing stand so I can minimize the room the assembled wings will require, and I can easily move them when desired.

Comments:

* I based my stand loosely of an image I downloaded from a google search. The image was for a set of Sonex wings, so I adjusted the height and width to fit the S-20 geometry.

* I found a 4" wide x 30 ft tie down strap at Northern Tool and equipment supply. I liked this better than the 2"- 3" straps in the ratchet tie down section of the other stores I visited.

* I decided to leave the lower ends of the straps loose for now, and I will fasten them when I have a chance to set the wing in place and determine the proper length.

* For reference, I used 5 2x4's and 2 pieces of 2' x 4' x 1/2" plywood. It is 92" wide and the side uprights are 55" (measured from the bottom of the lower 92" board to the very top.) The legs with the casters are 40" long, and the short verticals are 13.5" tall. The gussets are generally 12 x 12 with the gussets for the short verticals made from scraps left over after cutting out the larger gussets.
