Back in the shop after a two night haitus. One night involved Rob and I going to visit an airport buddy Glen that has been going through some medical issues and is currently in a rehab facility. The other night involved yard work after my real job to catch up on chores from being gone two weeks!
Anyway after a late meeting for work I got into the shop for a little session.
I drilled the hole for the friction knob that I am going to manufacture for the throttle quadrant mentioned in the previous log. Used the step drill to make the hole 11/16ths and will make the friction knob 5/8" which seems about right.
The AN4 bolt that goes through the center is not retained so once the nut is off the bolt pushes right out. I used a piece of strong double sided tape and a piece of .015 aluminum to secure to the back as a keeper to stop the bolt from coming out. Once the friction knob is installed there will really be no pushing against the retainer so it should work well.
I got some taps and tooling located to make the tension knob and called it quits for the night.
