Brief Description:  Aileron Trim

I made a call to Vans today. My bag of hardware for the manual trim install was lacking two VA-159 washers that are needed to sandwich the trim lever. I spoke with Han and while we were talking he actually walked upstairs carrying his trusty digital calipers and gave me the dimensions.

The washers are made out of nylon I was told. I have some Acetal that I bought from McMaster some time ago to make small washers to put underneath my washers and nuts for both the CB's and the toggle switches. It keeps the lock washers from digging into the panel over time. The material is a bit similar to Delrin but tougher than nylon. It offers poor impact strength....but offers great tensile strength, hardness and a naturally slippery surface......so it should work great for this purpose.

I machined the two washers and then assembled them along with the handle to the left side console panel with the hardware.

I then did some measuring and decided where to put the adel clamp on the bulkhead and drilled for the clamp. I decided to put a nutplate as opposed to using a nut and bolt. Gotta keep working up to the lever.
