My buddy Jim sent me his "real" panel after I cut a prototype for his RV8 and gave me a thumbs up on the prototype. The 6061 aluminum is harder than the 5053 panels I obtained for the prototypes and it a lot better to cut in my opinion. The stiffness of the 6061 just works better and is more stable when cutting.
Anyway, I worked on getting the cutouts correct and cut the right side of the panel first then moved over to the left side as it requires my machine ram to be moved 10 degrees to each side to reach the areas of the panel.
When it was all done it looked great and came out with NO mishaps. That is the most stressful part of the process.....not wanting to mess it up and have to buy a new one....
