Brief Description: Rivet Hinges on Cowlings with Pro-seal
I was working the snorkle early this morning when Rob said he would stop by to get a look-see at the project and lend a hand if I needed one for a few hours.
He showed up in the afternoon and since the riveting and bonding of the cowl hinges was a priority on my list we tackled that job. I had just started countersinking the rivet holes when Rob poppe into the shop. He said he would take over that portion while I mixed the pro-seal.
I laid the pro-seal onto the hinge lines that I had taped off to keep the pro-seal where it needs to be and not on other areas. After I finished laying pro-seal on the first hinge line we clecoed the first upper hinge on and Rob got to riveting while I continued laying pro-seal on the rest of the hinge areas.
It took a little while to get all the hinges on and set but we did and Rob helped me put the cowling on to let the pro-seal set a bit. I will remove the top cowl later tonight to bond the cowl inlet ramps.
Thanks again Rob....always a great help when you stop by.....making more progress!
